A study on expend itu repattern s o f 52 factory workers in Asrama Perantau Paroi, Seremban and lock 8, Flat Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor was carried o u t in October-November 1980. The study indicated th a t 8 0 .7 percent of the respondents had incomes less than $200 per month. This group spent about 21 percent on food , 26 percent on clothing, 12 percent on transportation, 8 percent on saving and 14 percent on helping o u t with the family . Statistical analysis showed that expenditure on food, saving and family increased as the income increased. Money management practices o f the respondents were influenced by location, income, educational level and family income.
